Cut bacon in half and fry until crisp. Drain on paper towels. While bacon is frying, cream together cream cheese, 2 tablespoons butter, sugar and syrup.
Whisk together eggs, milk, and salt in a shallow dish.
Spread the brown sugar mixture on each bread slice. Top 6 slices of bread with 4 – 5 slices of bacon, then with remaining bread slices, sugar side down, making 6 sandwiches.
Melt butter on medium hot griddle or frying pan.
Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture. Fry on each side for 3 – 5 minutes until golden brown and filling is hot. Serve with butter and maple syrup. - 1 pound bacon
