Grease a 13″ x 9″ baking dish.
Cream together cream cheese and powdered sugar.
Cut the bread into 3/4″ cubes.
Arrange half the bread in the dish and top with cream cheese mixture. Spoon pie filling over cheese, top with remaining bread.
In a large bowl, mix together eggs, milk, vanilla, and syrup. Pour over the bread, cover and refrigerate overnight or for 2 or more hours.
Remove from fridge and preheat oven to 350°. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and continue baking for 25-30 minutes until the center is firm and the top is slightly browned. Let cool for 10 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar and serve. - 12 ounces cream cheese at room temperature

- 12 slices Lakeland Texas Toast
- 1 can cherry pie filling (21 ounces)
- 10 eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/3 cup maple syrup
- Powdered sugar for dusting
