- 2 8-count packages pre-cooked bratwurst
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 28-oz can crushed tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons curry powder
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 12-count package Village Hearth Slider Buns
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon curry powder
Preheat oven to 350° degrees.
Cut bratwursts in half lengthwise, then cut into half-inch slices. Add oil to a skillet and brown sausages. Drain and set aside.
Add onion to pan and cook until softened, about 2 minutes. Add tomatoes, 2 teaspoons of curry powder, paprika, mustard, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer on low for about 20 minutes or until very thick. Add bratwurst to tomato sauce.
Spray the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish with nonstick vegetable spray. Place slider bun bottoms into prepared baking dish. Spread bratwurst mixture evenly over buns. Cover with bun tops. Brush the slider tops with butter, then sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon of curry powder. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes until sandwiches are hot.
